Dom Hunt, a brief summary:

- Brought up in Kenya

- BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences from University of East Anglia, 1990-1993.

- Ecological research in Vietnam, 1994.

- Advisor to the Ministry of Environment in Cambodia for 3 years, working in protected area management and community forestry, 1994-1997. Learned PRA.

- MA in Rural Development from University of Sussex, 1997-1998.

- Participatory Planning with Australian Aboriginal groups for land management, 1999-2001. Started training people in PRA.

- Community based watershed management advisor in the Forestry Department of East Timor Public Administration, 2001-2002. Continued training people in PRA/PLA, introduced to permaculture and started working in sustainable agriculture.

- Agriculture rehabilitation project leader in Democratic Republic of Congo, 2002-2003. Started designing projects and training people in sustainable agriculture.

- Worked in Sustrainability full time from 2003, which has taken me to Democratic Republic of Congo, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Aceh, Japan, East Timor, Sierra Leone and UK. Continued training, including in M&E, and started doing project evaluations.

- Programme advisor in Nepal for 2.5 years, working in livelihoods, disaster risk reduction and equality, 2007-2009. Took the lead role in emergency response and DRR. Started training in risk, vulnerability and capacity assessments.

- Continuing to work in Sustrainability from 2009 until now, taking me to East Timor, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sierra Leone (so far).

- Languages: Speak Swahili (East Africa), Khmer (Cambodia) and Tetun (Timor Leste) well. Speak Spanish and French reasonably well.
