Training methodology seeks to minimise the amount of time spent indoors: most sessions are either entirely practical or explanations followed by practical experience. The training course ends with a design practical where participants get the opportunity to put it all together. Training courses are aimed at development professionals working in natural resource management seeking to understand better alternatives for people's livelihoods, and the smallholders themselves.

The normal course for sustainable agriculture lasts 2 weeks, but introductory courses lasting one or two days can be organised. Courses on certain elements of agriculture, such as soil management, integrated pest management or agroforestry can be organised on request.
